When I came to Medcan for a Comprehensive Health Assessment, I considered myself to be in excellent health – I had no symptoms to suggest otherwise – and was simply wanting to do have a comprehensive medical check-up, as many of my friends have been doing on an annual basis. However, during my Assessment, Medcan’s ultrasound technician noticed a mark on my kidney that needed further investigation. I was booked to have a CT scan, which determined that I had a tumour on my kidney. At that stage I was recommended to see a urologist. As I was planning a two week trip to South Africa, the surgeon recommended a second ultrasound to see if the tumour was growing and if I would need to cancel my trip. The ultrasound technician at the medical lab had a difficult time detecting the tumour because of its position, even though she knew it was there, and commented that Mehdi, the ultrasound technician at Medcan, must be very skilled to have detected it. Ultimately, the surgeon recommended removing the tumour, as there was an 80% probability that it was malignant, which, post surgery, was confirmed through biopsy.

Today, I am doing well and I am very grateful to the Medcan team for the diagnosis and for detecting the tumour at the early Phase I stage. Had my cancer not been detected in its early stages, the outcome could have been far more serious later on. I have become Medcan’s greatest advocate and recommend Medcan to all my friends and associates.

Once I made the conscience decision to invest in my health and proceed with your services, I found from the very first moment that I was greeted, to when I was leaving, I was acknowledged by one of your team members. At every single treatment, your staff welcomed me, gave me their name and wanted to make sure that I was treated efficiently and effectively. I was being moved at such a fast pace that I could hardly check my e-mails in between the various test procedures. The experience was first class.  

My appointment was even moved up by one hour to accommodate my need to get back to work. All the services had been performed so promptly.  I found my doctor to be very warm, and approachable. He listened with great detail and responded to my various questions and requests.

Overall, I want to congratulate you and your team of running a top notch medical health operation that really understands customer service on a very personal level.

The waiting room was calm and we waited just a few minutes in all cases. All Medcan staff seemed to know exactly where I was and what step in the process was due next.
