Medcan’s 12 week Weight Loss Program is centred around behavioural support from one of Canada’s leading family physicians in weight management: Dr. David Macklin. Dr. Macklin integrates the latest science on weight loss to determine your individual food patterns that have contributed to weight gain over the years. Together, you will develop realistic and sustainable weight loss habits and skills to help you keep the weight off for good.

Medcan’s Weight Loss Program Includes:
- You will meet with Dr. Macklin up to once per week during your 12 week program to identify and change individual behavioural patterns that improve weight loss.
- Meetings will focus on identifying your individual obstacles to weight loss.
Coaching by the Weight Loss Coordinator:
- Weekly check-in and nutrition coaching with a certified Trainer and Nutritionist.
- Plus access to nutritionist-developed meal plans
The Bod Pod and Your Diet
Your metabolism and your diet start here. Medcan is the only medical clinic in the Toronto area to offer the gold standard in body composition analysis systems - the
FDA-approved Bod Pod. The Bod Pod is a computerized, egg-shaped chamber that uses a technique called Air Displacement Plethysmography to determine body fat composition. A simple 5-minute assessment provides an accurate portrait of your body composition, including percentage of body fat as well as your resting metabolic rate. By understanding your resting metabolic rate, Medcan’s nutritionist can develop a meal plan that will keep you energized and never hungry, allowing you to achieve lasting weight loss.
