Please note that the International SOS program does not take the place of medical and travel insurance. Therefore, it is important that you arrange adequate insurance coverage before your trip. Medcan Members are not charged for many services, such as pre-trip medical information online or over the phone security advice. However, some of the services provided by International SOS are arranged on a "fee per use" basis. Examples of this might include the delivery of urgent medication, an emergency evacuation (either medical or security) or accompaniment of a doctor or nurse. These costs are often covered by a travel insurance program but you should inquire with the International SOS representative regarding any likely extra costs at the time you are requesting the service. Some services may also require a credit card pre-authorization before the services are delivered. Most importantly, International SOS - as the world's leading medical and security assistance company - will ensure you receive the best advice and treatment wherever you are in the world.
