Men’s Health Risk Assessment
This service can be purchased on its own (for all clients having had a Comprehensive Health Assessment within the past two years) or added to your Comprehensive Health Assessment. It can also be included in an Executive Health Program.
Our Men's Health Risk Assessment provides the opportunity for the early identification and potentially life-saving intervention of men’s health related diseases such as prostate cancer, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), erectile dysfunction and urinary problems.
We highly recommend this comprehensive evaluation to all men age 40 and over, and men over the age of 35 who have a family history of prostate disease. (It is estimated that 1 in 8 men in Canada will develop prostate cancer.)
Cost: From $595
Your Men’s Health Risk Assessment includes:

- Identifies urinary problems, including blood in the urine, and size of the bladder before and after urination
Uroflowmetry
- Evaluates the function of the urinary tract by measuring the volume and speed of urinary flow
Questionnaires and risk stratification models
- Assesses your sexual health
- Identifies your risk level for prostate cancer
- Determines if you have an enlarged prostate
Coordinator Assessment
- A Medcan Men’s Health team member will meet with you to answer any of your questions, review your questionnaires and give you two nomograms to complete.
Results review by Dr. Rajiv Singal, Director, Medcan Urology
- Within twelve days of your Assessment, we will provide you with Dr. Singal’s written report outlining any risks and recommendations.
If we identify that you have genetic risks, an appointment will be arranged with Medcan’s Genetic Counsellor. In the case of any other abnormal results, an appointment will be arranged with a Medcan urologist.
If you’re concerned about men-related health issues, add our Men’s Health Risk Assessment to your Comprehensive Health Assessment.
