Patricia Rockman, MD, CCFP

Senior Medical Consultant, Mindfulness Cognitive Based Therapy (MBCT)

Dr. Rockman obtained her medical degree from McMaster University and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Toronto (Chief Resident at Toronto Western Hospital).  She is a certificant and fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.  She has obtained additional subspecialty training in palliative care, HIV, psychotherapy with an undergraduate degree in psychology (Glendon College, York Univeristy).  She has also received extensive clinical training in MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction).  Dr. Rockman is a family physician with a focused practice in mental health. She is an Associate Professor with the University of Toronto, Department of Family Medicine, cross appointed to the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Rockman is also co-chair of the Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) Collaborative Mental Health Care Network and a physician educator in the areas of stress reduction, mindfulness based therapies and cognitive behaviour therapy.  She has extensive experience in curriculum development and program implementation for healthcare providers.  Dr. Rockman has presented at several national and international conferences/workshops and published articles in her areas of interest.  She has received numerous academic awards for innovation in education (2009, 2010 – Community Medicine, University of Toronto) and for Outstanding Contribution in Family Medicine (Mental Health)by the College of Family Physicians (2007).
