Lea Velsher, MD CM, FRCP(C), FCCMG
GeneticistDr. Lea Velsher is a graduate of McGill University. She did her postgraduate training in pediatrics at the Montreal Children’s Hospital followed by a fellowship in genetics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dr. Velsher is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, a Fellow of the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists, and a diplomat of the American Board of Medical Genetics. She is currently on active staff at North York General Hospital and a lecturer at University of Toronto. Dr. Velsher is active in the OMA, the Northern Regional Genetics Program and is a consultant for the Familial Colon Cancer Clinic at Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre. Her interests include genetics of adult diseases and the integration of genetics into primary care practice.
