Janice Weiss, MD, CCFP
Director, Continuing Medical Education (CME)Dr. Weiss is a medical graduate of the University of Toronto with over 25 years experience in primary care as a family physician in both academic and community medical settings. She is a Certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP), Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and Family Medicine Preceptor for undergraduate and graduate medical students. She is active staff at the Scarborough Hospital and courtesy staff at the Rouge Valley Health System and Humber River Regional Hospital. Dr. Weiss was founder and director of the Antenatal Unit and former Chief of the Department of Family Practice at the Scarborough Grace Hospital (1989-1991) having served on various hospital committees. Dr. Weiss has an active general practice and is part of a large community based physician group. In the past, she has been a physician surgical assistant in orthopedics at the Humber River Regional Hospital, former emergency room staff physician at the Scarborough Hospital and the Centenary Hospital (now the Rouge Valley Health System) and had obstetrical privileges. She is on the Board of Governors of the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal organization that promote racial tolerance and is a member of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment. Dr. Weiss has organized CME programs such as the Annual Clinical Practice Update Day in Endocrinology & Diabetes and Five Chiefs Family Medicine Clinic Day. Dr. Weiss has a particular interest in preventive medicine and continuing medical education.
