Bronwen Evans

Bronwen joined Medcan in 2007 with responsibility for marketing, communications, government relations and corporate social responsibility. She is also the company’s Chief Privacy Officer. Prior to joining Medcan, Bronwen successfully ran her own communications and public affairs consulting firm, with a roster of clients from the not-for-profit, private and public sectors. As a strategic communicator, she provided advice to a large range of clients, including organizations in highly regulated and complex sectors, such as energy and health care. With an expertise in crisis communications, she also provided specific strategic communications services, such as issues management and media relations. Bronwen has served as chief of staff to the Ontario Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty and as chief of staff and press secretary to Mr. Flaherty in his roles as the Attorney General of Ontario and the Minister Responsible for Native Affairs. In addition, Bronwen has served as a senior advisor to the Honourable John Baird, Minister of Community and Social Services, and the Honourable Jim Wilson, Minister of Health. Bronwen serves on the Board of Directors of the National Ballet of Canada and is a founding director and secretary of the True Patriot Love Foundation.  Bronwen received an undergraduate degree with Honours from McGill University and a Master's degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Biomedical Ethics from Carleton University in Ottawa.
