Alex Chan, BSc, MD, CCFP (EM), FCFP

Dr. Chan obtained his medical degree from the University of Manitoba and completed a rotating internship with emphasis in Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine.  He is a fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) with Special Competence in Emergency Medicine (EM).  Dr. Chan has practiced emergency medicine at York Central, Richmond Hill (2002-2008); Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie (2001-2004); Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Cambridge (1997- 2005) and St. Mary’s General Hospital and K-W Health Centre, Kitchener Waterloo (1993-1999).  He has over 20 years of clinical experience in Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine, as well as post graduate training in Pain Management.  He has been a member of various hospital committees.  Dr. Chan is a physician supervisor of diagnostic cardiac stress testing and active staff at various urgent care clinics in the community.  He has a special interest in preventive medicine.
