Visual Acuity & Pressure Tonometry
A standard eye exam will be given, testing your ability to see objects at near and far distances and the ability to see colours.
A tonometry test is also given, which measures the pressure in the eye by measuring the tone or firmness of its surface. Medcan uses an air-puff non-contact tonometer, which measures pressure by delivering a short burst or puff of air into each eye. This test screens for glaucoma or high pressures in the eye (intra-ocular hypertension) – which can be a precursor to glaucoma.
