Mammogram and Breast Ultrasound

Mammography is the use of x-rays as a screening and diagnostic tool for detecting breast cancer.  Early detection of breast cancer can increase the chances of survival, as well as reducing treatment and recovery time.

Some women may have dense breast tissue that makes the detection of cancer difficult using a mammogram.  In those cases an ultrasound of the breast may be used to ensure proper diagnosis.
