Health Citing: Exercise Daily to Reduce The Threat of Getting Cancer

By: Dr. Lorne Greenspan, Senior Medical Consultant

There are an increasing number of studies that have confirmed that moderate to intense exercise can reduce the incidence of cancer by at least 20 per cent.  The cancers known to be affected include colon, breast, prostate, uterine and lung.

The recommended amount of exercise to accomplish this result is:

 1. 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5-6 times per week

 2. 20 minutes of intense exercise 3 or more times per week.

There is also evidence to show that cancer survivors with breast, prostate and colon cancer have longer survival periods, if they follow the exercise lengths described above.
