2011 Flu Vaccines at Medcan

Once again, Medcan is offering both the traditional Public Health flu vaccine as well as the newer flu vaccine called Intanza. The Intanza vaccine is just as effective as the traditional vaccine. The difference is that it is an intradermal injection that when administered into the arm only permeates into the top layer of skin and not into the deep muscle tissue, making the vaccination less painful upon administration. It also helps to avoid the side-effect some people experience of having an achy arm after the shot.  Unlike the traditional vaccine, the Intanza vaccine is not covered by OHIP but we are offering it free of charge to our clients, between the ages of 18-59, who have purchased the Medcan Wellness Plan.  For clients who have not purchased the Medcan Wellness Plan, the cost of the Intanza vaccine is $25.  To book an appointment for a flu vaccine, please contact 416-350-5900, or bookings@medcan.com.
