Ashim has had the privilege of building and leading global and domestic teams to design and execute start-up, turn-around and growth mandates in health care, professional services, retail and insurance/financial services industries.  Ashim’s roles have focused on shaping and advancing firm-building (culture) activities while retaining a competitive and commercial focus.

Over the past 25 years, Ashim’s leadership roles have included: Founder, Stem Capital; President, Medavie Blue Cross; CHRO | CMO at Sobeys; CEO, Aon Canada (Hewitt) and Global Head of Innovation & Growth, Aon; EVP at Liberty Health; and President, Managing General Underwriter for Allianz Life.

Ashim is a regular writer and commentator in policy development forums and academic institutions on competitive behaviour, corporate development strategies, and health and performance issues.

Ashim is a member of the board of Russell Investments where he chairs the Audit Committee, and he is the co-chair of LEAP, The Pecaut Centre for Social Impact.

Ashim earned his MBA (Global) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and his Master of Arts (International Relations) from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. His other credentials include Institute of Corporate Directors, Director (ICD.D), Fellow-Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designations (CEBS).
